Kip Moore Bounces From Couch to Couch, Lives Like a Nomad Off the Road

Following his two-week No. 1 hit with 'Somethin' 'Bout a Truck,' Kip Moore's life has gone from 0-60, but he is not complaining one bit! "There's no routine in my life whatsoever," Moore tells Taste of Country with a laugh. "My routine has been thrown all over the place!"

Not having a permanent zip code is working in his favor, seeing how he is already used to having somewhat of a gypsy lifestyle.

"I literally live out of a backpack," Moore says with a grin. "I don't even have an address! I'm on the bus six days a week, then when I get off and have a day or whatever off, I don't have an apartment. A lot of times, I crash at my producer's office on the couch or whatever. I'm just kind of bouncing around."

The amount of success he has earned in country music has him touring coast-to-coast also means adding more people to his inner circle and divvying out jobs to leave less on his plate.

"The biggest adjustment has been just handing over so much control to so many people," admits Moore. "There are so many business decisions in this that I never would have dreamed of. I have to hand over my finances to so many people. It's kind of like floating all over the place… somebody's paying something on this, and somebody's collecting something on that. That's just been freaky for me."

He continues, "I never had any money, and it's not that I'm making a lot now, but I've always had such a little amount that I keep tabs on. I would know exactly what's happening with it. Now, there's just so many investments you have to make with merchandising and the bus and the production and all that stuff. Everybody's taking care of all that. The business side of it freaks me out. There are just so many tiny things that go into it that I never would have dreamed of. I just thought I walked on stage and played music and that's all I had to do, but there are so many things."

Luckily for Moore he will have plenty of time to get used to all the changes, as his career is showing no signs of stalling out any time soon. His new single, 'Beer Money,' is tearing up the country singles charts and this fall he will hit the road with Justin Moore and Eric Church. Not too shabby, Kip!
